- Respond to requests from customers regarding query response times
- Manage overall Data Warehouse performance
- Perform database upgrades to the development, test and production environments
- Perform software upgrades to the DB2 Data Warehouse environment
- Migrate a single partition database to a multi-partition environment
- Resolve database system crashes

Results
 
- Identification of slow performing queries and recommendation of  appropriate solutions and corrective courses of action
- Review and application of thresholds for the improvement of the use of DB2 Governor and Query Patroller
- Review of database change requests and the build of required syntax to implement upgrades
- Planning and implementation of DB2 fixpacks and special builds for all DB2 Data Warehouse environments
- Calculation of disk space requirements for the target environment
- Design of partitioning schema for the migrated database tables along with the associated data unload and load processes
- Resolution of database system problems and the application of configuration changes, including recycling the DB2 instances
