Project scope
- Establish strategic relationships to effect definition of standards, policy, methods and architecture
- Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps and associated strategies
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps for key suppliers
- Communicate defined technical direction, architectures, methods and standards to obtain support of senior technology management and the development community
- Align development projects and programmes to technology standards and capabilities to ensure fitness for production
- Review and challenge recommendations from Project Managers
- Act as a mentor and coach to colleagues

Results
- Production of up-to-date infrastructure roadmaps for zSeries and associated software
- Production of up-to-date product roadmaps for key software suppliers
- Creation of report on existing batch scheduling capabilities and infrastructure roadmap containing agreed recommendations for improvement and rationalisation
- Improvement of relationships internally within the technology department and with key suppliers
- Creation of briefing papers for senior technology management on proposed new projects and technology adoption
