Summary: Our multi-national Dutch customer has a requirement for an Nagios Administrator for an initial contract to the end of 2008. The customer operates a mission critical IT environment including applications on IBM zSeries, xSeries and pSeries hardware and the activities involve Data Center Management (AIX/LINUX) and IT Operations on the three hardware platforms. Nagios is used for monitoring all platforms and needs to be fully maintained and available 24/7. The role will encompass the creation and maintenance of the Nagios repository and dashboards (configuration, maintenance) used by Operators, proposal of standards and maintenance of Nagios documentation, management of the Nagios application and the support of Nagios integration with other systems such as Tivoli Service Desk. In addition the support of the implementation of a new extension of Nagios and the development of the tools/procedures to include new services in the monitoring tool will also be required. The successful applicant will also be expected to have administration knowledge (DBA) of MySQL database or equivalent and the capability to write technical documents. The working language is English however the ability to converse in either French or German would be beneficial as would education to degree level. An attractive rate is offered for what is potentially a long term contract within an excellent environment with extensive sports and social facilities.
