SQL SERVER DBA

Summary: My client has a requirement for a Senior SQL Server DBA to join an existing team. The role will involve software installation, server configuration, release management, upgrades/migration, backup and restore and general support of the production environment. There is a watch duty element to the role (24/24 on call for a total of 7-10 days per month). The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years experience in SQL Server database administration, with strong operational focus including security, patch revision control, performance management and tuning, high availability and licensing. You will have experience of AIX, Linux, Windows, Software: Microsoft SQL Server (> SQL 2005), Oracle Database (> 10g), Microsoft clustering services, AIX, HACMP, Oracle and SQL Server. You will be able to work autonomously, be a problem solver and have excellent communication skills.
