Best Practice for Recruitment

B & M has developed its own Best Practice model for recruitment, which enables us to fully assess and qualify specialists' skills and expertise.

B & M continuously manages relationships with our specialists to ensure that information is up-to-date. Our aim is one of continuous quality improvement of data. All our consultants and specialists have diverse and proven skill sets, appropriate to the needs of our customers.

Networking
B & M has built up a high-quality and discrete database of specialists over a decade. This has been achieved by building successful professional relationships with these specialists, so we can identify new consultants quickly through the trust gained with our existing contacts.

Qualification
B & M exercises the utmost care in the selection of consultants and specialists and this process includes:

Personal interview (usually by telephone) evaluating:

  • Interpersonal qualities
  • Leadership and team dynamics
  • Personal circumstances
  • Exact availability
  • Geographical preferences
  • Technical interview (usually by telephone) evaluating:
  • Technical aptitude
  • Technical expertise
  • Length of experience
  • Breadth and depth of skill sets
  • Technical self-assessment identifying level of capability per skill area

References:

B & M takes both personal and technical references from customer contacts where the specialist has recently worked. These references are taken verbally to maximise the value of information on:

  • Technical fit
  • Productivity
  • Leadership and team working abilities
  • Interpersonal fit
  • Track record
  • Competence and application of expertise
  • Capacity to add value
  • Ability to deliver
