Directors' Biographies

Jerry Smart, Managing Director

An IT professional with over 35 years experience, predominantly in the IBM mainframe arena, Jerry has spent the last 24 years focusing on the provision of technical services for large enterprise systems.

Having initially trained in accountancy, Jerry moved into IT in the early '70s. He worked with the British Printing Industry Federation to develop new computer systems to reduce industry waste. In 1980 he joined Avis Europe to manage the development of new customer marketing systems.

He joined service provider Coveford Data Systems in 1984 as Account Manager, then UK Business Manager. Jerry subsequently integrated the UK and Swiss operations.

Invited to join B & M in 1993, his primary objective was to create an infrastructure and to build the newly formed business. He subsequently developed the marketing and human resources functions as well as taking responsibility for finance and legal. Jerry's current focus is on corporate development and in providing a challenging environment to enable staff to achieve and to be successful.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoys bridge, chess, photography and travelling.

Amanda Dunn, Sales Director

Amanda is an experienced sales director with a strong track record of providing high-value IT services into the international market place.

During the 20 years that Amanda has spent in the IT Industry she has worked for a number of blue chip companies including IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Landmark (now part of Halliburton), Dun and Bradstreet Software Services and a number of prestigious JVCs.

Amanda has an MBA and is Siebel certified. Her work experience includes running a wide range of global / major accounts, board level responsibility for channels and alliances and running teams of over 30 sales and technical staff.

In the last few years Amanda has focused her energies in the area of professional services and has won a number of strategic consultancy contracts with multibillion dollar turnover companies.

Amanda joined B & M in April 2007. Her aim is to use her expertise to help B & M achieve its goal of becoming the major provider of expert technical support and consultancy services in its chosen niche markets.

Amanda's hobbies include travelling, engaging in country pursuits and spending time with her children.
